With Stephen working out of town for the majority of last year I have not been able to keep up on recording Tate's milestones. I know it doesn't mean I am, but oh how it makes me feel like a horrible mother.
I did his 2 to 3 month update, but haven't posted since, and he is 8 months old now! Time is going faster than I could have ever imagined.
At 3 months old we blessed him, on September 1st (so technically I guess he wasn't "3 months" for another day, haha). It was a beautiful blessing given by Stephen, and we were so blessed to have our family and friends attend. Afterward we planned to go to a park for a light breakfast, but that morning it rained a little, so we moved it inside at our house. Poor Noah got sick and threw up at church (on daddy even), so he was confined to his room while the rest of us visited. Stephen's Aunt Tammy and cousin Brady were down from Idaho visiting, and we were so glad they were able to come along with the rest of the family! It was a great day celebrating with everyone! I do happen to have a picture of him in his sweet blessing outfit and one with daddy. I'm so glad I at least have a couple pictures of that day on this computer to post.
At 4 to 5 months he had some rough sleeping periods and some great sleeping periods. He continued to master grabbing and getting things in his mouth, and his legs just got stronger. He started pushing his legs against the floor before 4 months, even to the point where he could lift his bum off the ground and slide backwards a little (making diaper changes a little less easy haha), and he packs a mean kick that left my thighs bruised sometimes. He did not have a 4-month checkup because our new insurance was not "active," so I'm not sure of his stats then. He continued to be our fun, happy-go-lucky little man and he celebrated his very first Christmas where Santa, both Grandmas and Grandpa, mom and dad, and everyone else spoiled him with love and gifts!
At his 6-month checkup he was 16 lbs., growing well and is healthy! Off the top of my head I can't remember his length, or the percentile he was in, but I will try to find where I wrote it down and come back to update it. He got his shots and it broke my heart to hear him cry and be upset like that because he is normally such a happy and cheerful little guy! He tried cereal and some baby food, but it hasn't become a regular part of his day or diet until very recently, I'd say within the past week. We've tried a sippy, and he will get a small amount from sucking, but he mostly just chews on it and doesn't really drink from it yet. Still nursing and refuses a bottle. At 6 months he is starting to try to roll over, he would go back and forth from his back to his side when playing/laying on the floor. I am not exactly sure if he was still 6 months, or 7 the first time he intentionally rolled over himself, but it was inbetween that time! At 7 months he also hit another major milestone and started sitting unassisted for long periods of time, yay! He still sometimes will fall backward, but for the most part he will sit for a long time with no problems! He also had his first tooth break through! That would explain some of the rougher nights we've had. It looks as if the one right next to it is also close to breaking through. He will play on his tummy forever now, too, and he has started to push up and slide backward, as well as roll all over the place! He is mobile and will go all over a room rolling or scooting backward, but still kind of in a random way, I can see it won't be long before he can head toward what he wants with purpose though.
He just barely turned 8 months last week, and I can't believe we are at this point already! He is still the light of all our lives and is a snuggly, happy little boy! He loves to sit on the floor and play by his brothers, and will sit and play for an hour at a time. He is really interested in what we're eating, doing, and just wants to be a part of what's going on...he even likes watching TV or movies with us/the boys, which I know isn't good for a baby, but the time he does it is very limited. He says "mama," but with no connection, and jabbers and "talks" with all of us. The boys love to make him laugh, and I love hearing his sweet giggles!
I have mentioned before our laptop is in disrepair and this computer is so old it takes awhile to upload and add pictures, but I will do some picture posts soon to catch up on pictures of my little guy! For now here is a picture I took today from my phone. He's so cute it was worth the LONG time it took to get it on here to upload to the blog! ;)
