Noah had a Valentine party at Pre-school and came home with a bag full of goodies!
We printed off the square/rectangle "You Rock" Valentine from the free printables on this site: livinglocurto.com ..though our printer is running out of ink, so the black and red printed more pink and grey. We also included a heart lollipop with them.
Noah had fun decorating his bag for his party! We just got a sparkly gift bag from the Dollar Store, glitter foam letter stickers, and glitter glue. I helped with his name on the bag, and did a couple "designs," and then let Noah go to town.
The boys both got a Valentine from me and daddy. Noah got some bubbles and a box of chocolates. Noah must have liked his valentine because he said to me, "Mom, you're the best mom ever!!" and he gave me a huge hug. (So sweet!) Everett got Winnie The Pooh figurines (which will be used on a cake for his b-day next month). Everett also got his first taste of a chocolate Valentine heart, that was probably his favorite gift, as he got a huge smile on his face and went "Mmm".
Noah and I decorated our table for dinner complete with cut-out heart napkins, festive heart cups, and candles in the middle of the table. We had our own little family candle light dinner, it was fun!
Stephen surprised me with a sweet message on Facebook and flowers.
His amazingly sweet message:
"8 Years ago today you said yes to a very simple question that forever altered the course of our lives. I am so thankful that you said yes and have been my Valentine every year since. You are my life and world! I can not imagine it with out you. Happy Valentines to the BEST wife, mother, friend, and eternal companion a guy could ask for! I Love you!!!!"
My beautiful roses:
(I am obviously no a photographer, HaHa.)
I gave Stephen some of his favorite "snacks" and made up a little saying to go with them, using the names of the snacks. Something different and fun. He seemed to really like it! :)
I only had a small amount of work that I finished before Stephen got home, and we were able to get the boys both in bed at a pretty good time, so we got some time to just spend together...and that doesn't happen very often!
It was a great Valentine's day! My Valentines were the best anyone could ever ask for! I love all three of my boys more than I could ever say!!
...And I have to say, the "little" holidays mean so much more, and are so much more fun once you have kids. It's fun celebrating with them and coming up with ways to make the day a little more special than the average day. I think it's a great opportunity to start traditions and memories!
