Summer Fun Has Begun!

Our summer has started out busy but fun! So far we've gone to Summerfest in Orem, Strawberry Days in Pleasant Grove, and the Orem Owlz home opener. Inbetween those things, Stephen has already had a scout campout, and I had a baby shower for my neice Sherrie and her son, my great-nephew Kasyn. We've also packed in some library days, went to the Living Planet Aquarium with our friends, and made it to the Dollar store to stock up on some items for summer fun, some which we have got out and used already! So fun! ..And of course Father's Day is in there as well. ..I can't forget to mention that we've already seen 3 fireworks shows as well, at Orem Summerfest, the rodeo, and at the baseball game. (Noah saw the fireworks from the rodeo from my mom's house, and we saw the ones from the baseball game on the way home in the car HaHa.)

We didn't get any pictures at Summerfest, but after Stephen got home from his campout, we went to the parade and watched the fireworks. Stephen's good friend Scott, and his wife Katie, met up with us! As per our own tradition, we ate at Panda Express as a family before the parade HaHa. Scott and Katie were so awesome and sweet to watch Noah while we had to head back to the car during the parade to feed Everett. He LOVED hanging out with them! We all had a great time at Summerfest!

Noah, Everett, and I went to The Living Planet Aqaurium in Sandy with one of my best friends, Heather, and her son Emerson. We had so much fun with them! I only got one picture while we were there, but I wish I would have gotten one of all of us. After the aquarium, we went to BK for lunch and the boys played and we visited. It was a great time! We will def have to go back there! Also can't wait to see Heather again, I just LOVE her and I miss seeing her all the time! (We used to be roomates.)

Strawberry Days, we went to Huck Finn Day Friday, and Carly was awesome enough to come along! (Wish I would have gotten a pic of all 3 of us!) And my sister Karyn was so great to tend Everett for me! At Huck Fin Day Noah got to see some fun animals, get his face painted by one of the girls who was part of the Strawberry Days royalty, fish in a fish pond where you throw the pole over the sheet and get a prize, play some other little games, and the funnest for him was they flood part of the park and put fish in the water, you can fish with poles or nets, and also during the last little bit the kids get to play in the water. He loved playing in the water! We didn't take things to fish, but maybe next year! Friday night we also had a BBQ with the fam, and my brother and his boys were able to make it. It was so great to see my sister and her family and my brother and his boys, because we don't get to see much of them! Saturday morning we went to the parade, and then we rushed over to my neice's baby shower, which was fun! Saturday night Stephen and I met up with Scott and Katie for the Strawberry Days rodeo, Noah opted to stay home at Grandma's house because he was tired and not feeling too well, that was sad, but the rodeo was great and we had a lot of fun!
My mom's good friends were the Grand Marshalls of Strawberry Days this year, and one of the queens is a girl she knows also, infact it was the same girl that painted Noah's face. ..That's where those pictures from the parade come into play. ;)

Sunday we went to Liz's house for dinner to celebrate Father's Day. She made yummy chicken cordon bleu, limemades, and rasperry chocolate cake. YUM! We also had rolls, chicken rice (which I love HaHa), salad (my easy and small contribution), and applesauce to go along with dinner! It was nice to visit with everyone and celebrate Father's Day, even though all the fathers weren't there, Grandpa Ledge didn't come to dinner. We really appreciate all the hard work by Liz putting it all together! I hope Stephen had a good Father's Day, he definitely deserves it! Noah made him a homemade card, we printed off a certificate for him honoring the great dad he is, and I wrote him a letter...not any fancy gifts, but we hoped he liked them! He is an amazing dad and husband, and we love him so much! Of course that day I was missing my dad more than normal. Love him and miss him so much! He was the best dad ever!

Last night, Monday, we went to the Owlz home opener. We left in the 8th inning, so I actually don't know who won, but it was a nice night and up to that point a good game! :) Everett was getting hungry, and there really isn't a convenient place for me to nurse him, so we had to head home. Both boys did great though, and Noah had a lot of fun, as did Stephen and I! Everett was so smiley that I think it's safe to say he had fun also!

Yesterday we also made play dough! Noah had a blast helping and playing with it after it was ready! ...He has also been busy on previous occassions painting with water colors and coloring with markers, both which he has loved! I've tried to stock up on, and think up, activities that can be used as teaching moments, as well as keep him busy being creative...and most importantly keep him away from watching t.v. all day long! So far we've had success!

So far our summer has been awesome! Noah has already had so much fun, as have the rest of us! :) Excited to see what the rest of the summer brings! More awesomeness I'm sure!
