Due to budget reasons, and not so great planning on my part, I am not making something I have never made this week. :(
BUT I decided to post my "Go To" meal when I have forgotten to take meat out of the freezer, or haven't put any thought into dinner and dinner time has crept up on me!
Navajo Tacos! (I love them!)
I rarely make the fry bread from scratch anymore, but if you want that recipe reply with a message and I'll send it to you. It's super easy. No yeast and no letting anything rise. I think it's just flour, water, salt, and butter. ..Possibly some other dry ingredient that most of us always have on hand.
I just use Rhoades Rolls. Let them thaw until sticky or soft, form into a thin circle. (I usually use 2 together.) Fry in vegetable oil. (Make sure you warm your oil before you put the dough in.) Place on papertowel when done to absorb excess oil. Top with warmed chili, tomato, shredded cheese, sour cream, salsa, olives, shredded lettuce, chopped onions ... pretty much anything you want!
YUM! :)
Leave a message of the "go to" recipe you use when you have not thought about dinner until too late!

YUMMY..those navajo tacos sound SO DELICIOUS! That is totally what I am making for dinner tomorrow! Thanks so much for sharing and I love how you are doing Meal Time Mondays! What a awesome idea!! You have such a cute family (by the way)!
Yum I love Navajo Tacos! I'm going to have to make some now. I tried your Blackened Pasta recipe yesterday, it was yummy:) My go to recipe is hawaiian haystacks if it's too late. Or if I'm just lazy and don't want to spend forever in the kitchen, but who am I kidding I hardly ever spend forever in my kitchen ha ha!
Emily - Let me know how you like them! Thanks for the compliments! :)
Raquel, funny you mention Hawaiian Haystacks. That was my "go to" meal last night HaHa. ;) Also remember, I will cater for a small fee HaHa. Love You!
