I feel so grateful to have a specific time of year to reflect on the birth of Christ, His life, death, and more importantly that He still lives. Just as He gave all for us, I love how the Christmas season is about giving as well.
This year we had a wonderful Christmas! We did the traditional Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Benson's house, and we shared Christmas with both sides of the family. It was so great to spend time with those we love! ..Especially those that we don't get to see very often.
We did not do a really big Christmas this year, but I am glad about that because the focus should not be on what/how much you get. Noah just got a couple outfits from us, and Santa Claus brought him 3 gifts (symbolizing the 3 gifts the Wisemen brought to baby Jesus). The three gifts were Playdough, a mat to drive his cars and trains on, and a little basketball hoop. It was the perfect amount! ..If I am assuming right, that will probably be how Santa decides to deliver presents to our children from now on. :)
As for Stephen and I, we both got a fun surprise from each other. Stephen went out on a limb and picked out an outfit for me. He picked everything out from top to bottom, including shoes and accessories! He did a great job and I loved it!!! I was able to surprise him with one of his gifts this year (he usually pretty much knows what he will get..clothes and a few random things HaHa). This year one of his gifts from me was a luggage set. I was glad to surprise him with something unexpected. :)
We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and a safe and Happy New Year's Eve/Day!
