Recently I have discovered the wonderous world of creative/craft bloggers. My good friend Summer is a part of this blogging movement and opened up my eyes to the many other blogs out there! Her blog is: "Sumo's Sweet Stuff" -button on the right will take you to it. She is so creative, and it has lit a fire in me to develop a hobby of creating/crafting things. (Just as a side note, she has inspired me in so many other ways as well. She is truly amazing.)
I feel like focusing my efforts in this area for a hobby will be great for me. It will give me something that is just mine, add some more fun into my life, and spruce up my under/poorly-decorated house. It just might also make me some new friends and give me some much needed adult time. ...All of that will add a little more "LOVE" into my life. ;)
So, I planned a lunch date for Friday to craft with a friend and kick things off, and I also planned a Valentine lunch/play date in February to do that as well. BUT, I started a little early and "made" these letters today: (I use the term "made" loosely because I bought the letters, just mod podged some scrapbook paper to them)
Nothing fancy but I had fun! :) I can't quite decide if I am done with them or not yet. I might add some embellishments, or put them together on a ribbon to hang them up, we will see. I am not sure where I am going to put them up in February either, but I will figure that out as well after I feel they are complete.
...I won't be starting a craft blog anytime soon, still need to "develop" the skill, but I will probably post some projects onto my blog here just for fun.
And while I am on the subject of new things for this year, I have also found a lot of cooking/baking blogs. I have decided I would like to try making one new meal that I have never made before once a week. I will try to remember to post the recipes, if we liked it or not, and anything else appropriate regarding it for a "Meal Time Mondays" entry. ...I know I am cheesy.
I am looking forward to this though because I think it will help add some meals into the rotation. I get stuck in a food rut sometimes, making the same things over and over. I would like to change that, and I feel like this will be a small and easy step to help make that happen. :)
Also, if I pick a specific day to post about it too, it will keep me updating my blog on a regular basis because it will get me to it, and while I'm here I know I will have something to share about life or Noah HeHe.
