So back in March Everett turned two, as I've mentioned many times already. It's hard to come up with a summary of what he's like these days because he's just so full of personality and is always putting a smile on our faces with something new he does or says. His vocabulary is constantly growing, and he learns new words everyday. He loves to repeat words that are "new" to him, or that he is just noticing, and then he will just throw them into his everyday vocab. His little voice, and the way he pronounces things (sometimes not 100% correctly), just makes his talking so much fun to see/hear develop! He is putting small sentences together, and he loves to ask questions about how things work, what they are, etc., and he will remember what you told him and repeat it later. We have started to point out colors, and some days he will show you the colors correctly with every one you ask, other days he gets a few wrong, but he's definitely starting to figure them out, and he loves learning! When Noah is practicing letters or counting, Everett loves to be involved, and I love listening to him and his version of counting..he says, "2, 3, 5" right now, and it's so cute that I almost don't want to teach him the correct order yet, HaHa. ..Of course we will start working on it with him, and he will probably even figure it out himself before we do.
He is my busy boy! He doesn't care much for TV or movies, although occasionally he will sit and watch it for a few minutes but not long. He has such an imagination that it surprises me that he is still only (and barely) two! He loves to be outside, and you can bet that every morning he will find a way to sneak outside...rain, snow, or sun. When it comes to toys, if it has even the slightest bit of anything poking out he is very likely to get it to hook up to a toy trailer. He loves trucks, trailers, cars, and building things for the cars to go in/under, or hauling the blocks or Legos around on the toy trailer. He also loves his teddy bear, which he calls his baby, and he takes such great care of it! He also loves to play with my old Barbies, and he calls Barbie "mom," and the boy doll I have "dad," and I have to dress and undress them a bunch of times for him, and he will sit them in the furniture and rearrange them. He is a little perfectionist in his play and everything has to be just right (lining up cars, blocks, building towers, etc.)
He is such a boy, and I cannot keep him clean for the life of me! It doesn't matter if we spend the day inside just having a lazy day, he will find a way to get (and stay) dirty. Luckily for me he still loves bath time!
He isn't the best eater, but the boy loves his meat! Though he often calls whatever we are having something different than what it is (ie: last night we had turkey and he insisted it was ham, or roast is chicken), he will eat it. Such a little carnivore, HaHa.
He loves to help around the house however he can, vacuuming, spraying anything and wiping with a rag, sweeping, and pretty much anything that is a "big" chore. He also loves to help destroy things around the house, HaHa...he is definitely my busy boy as far as getting into things goes... in fact tonight he got out all my skillets to "cook" dinner while I was cooking, and when I had set his plate on the table (full of food) and turned my back for a second, he had filled all the pans/skillets up with his dinner to cook them. He can be a little mess maker, but he's also really good to help clean up (most the time!), and a lot of the time he will clean up things on his own, without even being asked; I will suddenly hear "Clean up, Clean up, Ev'ry body" and he will be picking up whatever he was playing with.
He is my little Linus and he has to tote his blankets (sometimes both of his big ones) everywhere we go (including when we leave the house..although he will let me leave them in the car at stores, so that's nice, HeHe). Other than mom or dad, the next thing he wants when he is hurt, sad, etc., is his blankies. In the morning he makes me get every single one out of his crib with him, along with his "baby" (teddy bear) and sometimes even his pillow, and we have to drag them around with us from room to room for awhile, until he gets going for the day and then we can usually lose a few of the other things (they can go back to the crib), but his blankets always have to be where he can get to one of them.
He and Noah are still the best of friends. They both look out for each other and are always concerned for each other. Of course they don't get along ALL the time, but they do play pretty well together most of the time, and I love to see the love they have for one another. They share a room and every morning Everett gets up, if Noah's not in there, the first thing he asks me is where is Noah.
...Speaking of sharing a room, Everett is our little antagonist and will be up bouncing off the walls (or literally in his crib) while Noah is trying to sleep. He is all energy, almost all the time. He is ready to go from the minute he wakes up, and it takes awhile for him to wind down for naps or bed. BUT he does still nap really well (2 to 3 hours everyday) and he sleeps really well at night..no wonder he has so much energy!
He is so silly and is always making us laugh, sometimes intentionally and other times just because he's so cute and such a little character. He has brought so much joy into our family, and he really has helped complete our family. I can't imagine life without my happy and sometimes feisty little boy!
He's growing up way too fast! Although I love watching him learn and grow, it is definitely bitter sweet! For now I cherish all the little cuddles and snuggles, hugs and kisses, and all the love my little guy shows me because I know that he won't want to be my cuddle bug forever!
