Stephen's First Hunt
Stephen finally got to go hunting!! Here are his words that he posted on Facebook about his first hunt:
Things I learned on my first hunt - Might be a little long sorry.
1) Four Wheelers need gas to run, don't check the tank on a downhill slope...
2) Don't let people pass you in your Jeep coming down the Mt. Or else you will break your upper control arm mount; sit in a parking lot so you can have cell service for six hours trying to organize a repair.
3) I have the BEST brother in law who helped on...the repair of said Jeep, He Brought all the tools needed and we got it home.
4) Sometimes Dad's forget they have children with them and go into ultra hunting mode and leave the child behind for a few minutes which to a 9 year old is an eternity (Not me a friend) and that 9 year old will make some noise in the process.
5) I have the best friends and family a guy could ever ask for.
6) If you see your buck, calm the crap down and don't yank your first shot high only to never hit the little guy.
7) The biggest deer will always come out of hiding on the last day and you will track them and be super late to work...
8) Cell phones dropped on rocks will shatter their screens.
9) I have the best Wife in the world for letting me get out and go even though I know she could have used the help at home.
10) Hunting isn't so much about the kill as it is the experience and memories, and this was the best experience I could have had!
