18-Month-Old Everett

I know I am late in posting this, but what better way to introduce my little 18-month-old than by saying one of the main reasons I am so late in posting it is because Everett is a B.U.S.Y child! He keeps me busy and on my toes! We used to joke that Noah was the Energizer Bunny, well Everett is giving him a run for his money!

Everett is turning into such a little boy and less a toddler. He loves to try to do anything Noah does and they are best buddies! They have so much fun playing together, and Everett just adores Noah, watches everything he does and laughs at all his silliness.

He is starting to say more and more, and it's so nice that he can communicate more effectively, that has lessened the high-pitched, ear-piercing shrieks he was famous for a bit ago.

Like I mentioned above, he is a busy body! He is all over the place, on top of, under, over, and everywhere in between. He just goes and goes! He climbs onto everything, which results in a lot of bumps and bruises.

He LOVES his bathtime, still, and he sometimes has two baths a day. I cannot keep that boy clean for the life of me! He gets his clothes changed at least once a day, but usually more, and lately he has had to have 2 baths a day from getting dirty. He will find a mess and find a way to wear it that's for sure!

He loves playing in the dirt, riding his little bike, and teasing the dogs. He doesn't just play in the dirt, he pretty much bathes in it, HaHa. He is all boy!

Bad example from mom, but every drink now is "co co" ..for coke. I have to occasionally buy pop that the boys can have to appease them. Here is Everett drinking his very own "co co" (Sprite).

Everett is feisty. He has started hitting, throwing things/toys, and even directly throwing things at us. I have had to put him in time out already. I'm still trying to come up with the best way to teach him that those things are not ok, and so far I think just telling him what he *can* do, showing him how he can get out his frustration in a nice way, and also encouraging him to use words, is all I have come up with so far. I don't think he really comprehends the time out thing. We are working on these little issues. I think this is a precursor to his twos, which I imagine are going to fall under that label "terrible twos," not because he is terrible, but just because it is a hard age to parent.

He loves babies, especially his baby cousin, Hailey. I love to hear him try to say her name. Speaking of cousins, his other best buddy (aside from Noah) is his cousin, Logan (as he says, Lo). I have a feeling those two boys are going to get into a lot of trouble together. ;)

He is so silly and I love to watch him play! He also has his "serious" side, and will still let mama snuggle him sometimes. He likes to look at books with whoever (any adult will do, I think), and that is the best time to try and catch a snuggle.

He loves cars, motorcycles, balls, all the typical boy things. I already see him using his imagination when he pretends to fix me food, plays like a puppy, fixes things with his tools, or builds something with the blocks to drive his trucks over.

I cannot picture life without him. He has brought so much joy and laughter in our lives. We all love him so much and feel so blessed to have him as a part of our family!
