Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

It's amazing how quickly things change with little ones. Everett no longer finds enjoyment in getting his diaper changed, and ever since becoming mobile (even just rolling around), diaper changes are more like wrestling matches. He has always despised getting dressed, but you can add that to the list of causes for a wrestling match as well. Doing either of those two things is literally a chore; picture me one leg over Everett trying to keep him on his back while trying to change his diaper, similar holds, holding him with my leg while sitting up, have to be done to get him dressed as well. ..And he is a strong boy! I can't believe how difficult these tasks can be sometimes. Despite the frustration it makes me laugh.

He surprised me last week in showing that he can climb stairs. Our basement is not finished, so he has no reason to go up or down stairs at our house, so this was new knowledge to me. We were at my mom's and he climbed up the stairs, Grandma behind him, on his first try!

He is such a little smartie and he imitates things so well. He will pretend to talk on the phone, and he truly "talked" and giggled to Grandma on the phone last night. He tries to brush his hair, which is super cute to watch.

He is too big for most of his 12-month clothing now, and it's crazy to me that he's fitting into things Noah was able to wear beyond two years.

He is starting to stand without assistance and is "cruising" (walking alongside things) very well.

Probably one the of the biggest changes Everett has undergone lately is his temperment. He is starting to be a bit feisty, HaHa. He shrieks and screams to get your attention, when he is mad, or for other reasons. It is quite comical actually, but at the same time I feel like I'm already being yelled at by him, HaHa. Noah started to get a bit feisty when he was a baby, but I don't think he waited until this long. ...I may have a long road ahead of me. ;)

Another GREAT change is Everett has started to do better at night. He isn't consistent, and he's not sleeping all the way through, but it is a huge improvement to getting up every 1-1/2 to 2 hours. I'm ashamed to admit that the reason being is most likely my fault. I have been very conscious of making sure he is offered 3 "meals" a day, and a lot of snacks, and he seems to be sleeping better the nights he will eat well. So all this time he was really just hungry! He doesn't like baby food so much anymore, so I don't think I was offering him enough to eat, major mom fail! When they can't (or don't) communicate it to you, it's hard to know they are hungry. He wasn't fussy or crying a lot before I started being super conscious of his eating habits, so I had no idea he could have been hungry- I offered him snacks and food, but I am just more diligent in making sure that I offer bigger meals again if he doesn't eat much at breakfast, lunch, or dinner (or when the rest of us eat our bigger meals).

He is still so fun and super happy most of the time! It is so fun to watch him grow and change!
