We didn't get Everett in to the doctor right around 9 months, so his checkup is technically off of where he is at at 10 months. ..He is now 10 months old, can you believe it?!
He was 24 lbs. and 31 inches long! He is a health and big boy! He is wearing 12-to-18-month clothing and has to wear toddler socks HaHa. He is wearing a size 3 or 4 in infant shoes.
He is healthy overall (no major health probs), but he did have a cold, and his lungs did not sound the best, so he took an antibiotic and he is feeling/doing much better now!
He started crawling a few days after Christmas (so pretty much right after he turned 9 months), and now he is figuring out he can pull himself up to a standing position. He is very curious and loves to explore!
One of his recent favorite things is books (yay!). I often find him looking at board books when I go to check on him because I can't hear the crawling or his playing anymore.
He loves to play with brother and try to be involved with what the big kids are doing. He plays with trucks/cars/anything with wheels and makes a car noise by blowing with his lips and making the sound (like blowing raspberries some people would say). He will pick up play phones and put them near his ear and talk in his cute baby talk like he is talking on the phone, which is so cute! I love when they start to learn how to imitate!
He says "mama" and "dada"...sometimes with intent and in using it correctly, and other times just babbling randomly.
One day, I taught him the sign for "more", and he is doing it, but I only did it one day, so he does not necessarily use it when he wants more. The fact that he picked it up and is doing it after that short "teaching moment" proves that I need to work more with him and I bet he will be using it for the word, and will probably pick up on signing other words as well! He is a smartie! :)
He will wave "bye" sometimes, and he will talk while saying it, and it really does sound like he is trying to say bye!
He still dislikes getting dressed/undressed and buckled in his carseat. He still loves baths! Another new thing he loves, playing peek-a-boo! He will pull the blanket over his face and just kick and giggle when you ask where he is, and then when he pulls the blanket down so you can see him, he will have the biggest, cutest smile on his face (while giggling)! I need to try to get this on video, I think it is so darn cute!
He has learned he can quickly crawl away from you when you come after him to get something from him that he somehow got but shouldn't have. (He must be able to tell in our voice or action that we are quickly coming to take it away). It is so funny because he will get going as quick as he can and just laugh! I wonder if he knows he is teasing, HaHa. He sure thinks it's a fun game anyway!
He loves the vacuum and will go after it if I'm trying to vacuum, so I have to put him in his high chair to get any vacuuming done, HaHa. He also loves playing with the printer (it is currently under the desk in the kitchen..no other place for it right now). He will push the buttons and it will send paper through it, so he thinks it's pretty cool. Another thing he loves is the broom! Somehow he gets it and loves to chew on the top of the handle or push the broom back and forth on the floor.
As far as feeding goes, he is still nursing. I have gotten to him to drink out of a sippy every now and then, just have to keep working with him! He eats baby cereal, still, but for the most part doesn't want baby food anymore and would rather have "real" food. I probably mentioned this in last month's entry, but he loves avocado! He also really liked the chicken noodle soup the other night! He loves to snack on cheerios and pretzels now, and is not as fond of the baby "puffs" anymore, but he will eat them sometimes.
He is now sharing a room with big brother, and so far things are going ok. Everett has had a couple nights of sleeping better, but for the most part they are still rough nights. Something I am constantly trying to work on improving.
He is such a delight and I love him so much! I can't believe we are quickly approaching one year, and soon he will be toddling around! Where did the time go?!
