As I mentioned earlier, Everett turned 5 months on his daddy's birthday! Since turning five months, Everett has started to roll over from back to tummy. After awhile being on his tummy is not so fun and he protests. Sometimes he gives up on help rolling back over and just lays his sweet little head down on the floor while he's crying..it is sad but cute at the same time. For now we help him roll back the other way, but I'm sure he'll figure it out on his own soon enough! The day before I saw him roll over on his own Noah pointed out to me that he was on his tummy..while giggling and with a sly smile Noah asked, "Mom, how did he get on his tummy?!" Because Noah and I had helped him roll over before I thought Noah was just teasing me when he asked that and kept insisting he didn't help him. The next day I saw Everett do it on his own, so there is a good chance he really did roll over on his own that day, even though it really did seem like Noah was teasing me HaHa.
He watches food or drink closely and makes chewing motions when he watches us eat. He seems ready to move on to other solids instead of just rice cereal. Next month I will start introducing baby food!
Everett is usually a pretty content baby, but he's been a little bit fussy and had some nights where he hasn't slept so well. His fussiness really isn't bad, and I'd even go as far to say his fussiness is how other babies are in their normal state. He has been drooling more than normal, and there have been a few other clues, so I investigated and sure enough he has a tooth coming in on the bottom! After checking on the tooth's progress yesterday, we noticed that both of his front, bottom teeth are coming in!
This isn't just a "five-month fact," but it's too cute/funny not to share. My friend is letting me borrow her bumbo (a little chair that helps support baby when he/she can't sit up by themselves quite yet), and when you go to get him out of it his legs are so chubby that he gets stuck and you end up picking up him and the chair HaHa. It has made getting him out of it a little tricky at times, but I love his chubby little (or not so little) thighs!
He continues to be such a happy and good baby! Noah is still loving him like crazy, and still wants to hold him all the time. It excites Noah that Everett can "play" a little more with him now, and I can't wait for when they can really play together! We are all still loving Everett like crazy! He is so fun, and I can't imagine life without him!
