Awake!

My father-in-law is awake and responding! This means they were able to take him off the respirator! They are continuing to do dialysis and monitor him to see if his kidneys will kick into gear and start properly functioning on their own. Things are improving and really it is a miracle! The nurse at the ICU told Stephen that they rarely see people pull out of something like this. So thankful for all the thoughts and prayers! It's amazing the power of prayer!

We are hoping things will continue to improve! Things are definitely looking a lot brighter than before! :)

After talking to Stephen a couple hours ago, I found out that dad/grandpa has been moved out of the ICU!! They are continuing to monitor his kidneys, but so far they are functioning properly. He has been able to have most of the tubes removed, and a physical therapist is soon going to start working with him to get him up and walking around! I am speechless and overcome with such joy and gratitude! What a miracle!
