Basement Project

Before baby comes we have a few projects we would like to get done. One is Baby Boy's room, but before we can start tearing into it and changing it from an office to a nursery we had to organize the basement so when we move all the office stuff down there it isn't too chaotic and messy. We also needed the basement a bit more organized before we get Noah his "bigger" boy bed, because we will need to move some things from his room down to the basement as well.

Stephen is stressed out with taking over the business in not such great shape, busy with work in general, side projects, and Scouts, and I know he has got to be extremely exhausted with all that he has going on, but in all my pregnant and moody glory, I have been anxious and pushy about getting things going. So, last night, Stephen went to Home Depot and bought all the materials, cut them at the shop, and then came home and built our basement shelves. He is the greatest, really! :)

Of course he had a little helper, which made getting it done so much sweeter. It was so fun to watch Noah "help" and want to be involved with everything, and Stephen was so patient with him and let him help and answered his bazillion questions. Noah had so much fun helping! He made sure to have his toolbox and tools, and Stephen gave him his very own "woods" (as Noah calls them) to build with, which I think made Noah feel big and important, plus he just loved building with them! They worked well together and made quite the team! :) ...I obviously wasn't of much help other than bringing down random things, broom, dust pan, water..etc.

The shelves turned out awesome! Stephen even organized everything last night after he was done building them even though it was late, what a sweetie! It is so refreshing to open the basement door and see everything all in a place and not just scattered randomly all over the floor! And though we planned on adding more shelves, it already makes a HUGE difference down there! The other shelves can wait for awhile. ;)

Now on to giving Noah his "bigger" boy room, and turning the office into Baby Boy's room...

Owning your own home is one never-ending project though really. ;)

Seriously, whoever said owning your own home is the "American Dream" had to have been high :) It is ALWAYS neverending. The basement looks nice and organized though! Such a good feeling!
