Makin' Play-Dough/Memories!

...Ok, so maybe Noah won't remember, but I will and that makes it a memory! ;)

The other night I decided to do something fun with Noah before we made dinner. I won't deny, I also wanted something to keep him occupied while I made dinner. So, I decided we would make play/salt dough!

Here is our little "adventure" in pictures:

Being a big helper!

Notice the mountain of salt next to the bowl. It didn't quite make it into the bowl Noah's first attempt..

Squishing the dough to mix in the color..

Sneaky, sneaky! Mom only had her back turned for a few seconds squishing the bag of dough and this happens: (Guess he needed a snack before dinner, and the cereal box was right there on the counter tempting him!)

Playing with the finished product..

Safe to eat!! But I wouldn't recommend it! ;)

Here's our recipe of fun!

1 c. flour
1/2 c. salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar

Mix dry ingredients.

1 c. water
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil

Cook this mixture until it balls or thickens. Place into Ziploc bag to cool and knead. If you want several colors, use several bags. Mix food coloring.
(I put in food coloring and kneaded the dough through the Ziploc bag until it was all colored and absorbed into the dough. It does not get on your hands once it's all mixed in.)

P.S. Yes, I do realize Noah and I are badly in need of a hair day! It is scheduled for Monday! Goodbye crazy hair, Hello fabulous! :)
