Lately we have been trying harder to be healthier. I have been trying to cook healthier meals with more variety and smaller portions. Stephen has been working out twice a week, and I have been trying to do my Yoga dvd when I can too. My Transcription course has taught me a lot, and a big thing I've learned so far is that all the "unhealthy habits" can add up to big problems. One thing that stood out to me was that A LOT of the contributing factors to a lot of diseases/conditions are things that the Word of Wisdom tells us to avoid. Coincidence? I don't think so. Even caffeine contributes to, or worsens, a lot of conditions. (I say this as I just enjoyed a coke about two hours ago HaHa...I know, I know. I'm working on it!)
It has only been a couple weeks since we have started to be more health-conscious and we can already see some benefits! Stephen has already lost 6 pounds (in only 2 weeks!) Way to go Babe!
The only downside I've noticed so far is, last night's meal did not turn out very well HaHa. I got a low-fat beef stroganoff recipe off the internet to try. It sounded good, but didn't taste that way! It called for WAY too much garlic, onion, and tarragon! It was soo over powering! That has been the only complaint so far though! However, it has been fun trying, and eating new things! Hopefully we won't have to suffer through anymore bad meals though! ;)
Not only do I hope to gain the many, many benefits that come from actively eating well and exercising, but through all of this I hope that we can teach Noah good habits so that he will treat his body (and mind) like the gift(s) that it is/they are!
Here's to healthy living! ;)

Your better and showing self control than me! I say I am going to eat healthier (especially for Kamden's sake)but never accomplish it. Those Girl Scout cookies are just way too good.
