Growing Up So Fast Already?!

Tonight while Stephen was sharing his glass of ice cold H2O goodness with Noah, we heard a "ting" on the glass. Stephen gave him another drink so we could have another chance to hear what we thought we heard (Ok Stephen actually heard it and recognized it first.) Sure enough! Stephen felt inside Noah's mouth on his lower gums and there it was..the sharpness of a new tooth coming in! After much speculation our wonderings were proved right. Noah has been teething. His first tooth is right at the gums ready to pop up any day now! You can definitely feel it, and see the tip top of it sitting all snug in his gums. What another big reminder that he is growing up too quickly!

While we are on the subject of our little Bug I feel I should mention that he is mobile! ..Not crawling yet, but he can definitely get around (and has definitely started to get into things when he gets to them quicker than I anticipate!) He manages to scoot around on his bum, or scoot backwards while he is on his tummy. Although he doesn't always go the direction he would like (which frustrates him so, and he'll let you know it!) I am positive he is loving this new found skill! He does go up onto his hands and knees from a sitting position and does rock a bit, and also will push up with his hands and legs while on his tummy, but the actual crawling is still awhile off I think. It's going to take some time for him to put all the necessary steps together to crawl, but he's getting there. Still time to do some major baby proofing though!

I can't believe how quickly he is growing and even growing up! It's all a little bittersweet! On top of those major happenings I have recently weaned him from nursing (so I can get back on some meds for my arthritis) and it's been quite hard for me emotionally as silly as that sounds. He no longer depends soley on me for anything now. Kind of sad. I have enjoyed nursing him, and I love the bond that I feel it has built between us!

I can't believe in about 3 months he will already be one year old! In good old mormon standard time we should be working on our next one shortly after that right?! ;) ..I think we'll wait awhile on that. We'll just keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't take as long to conceive the second time around.. for the kids' sake! ..Although I have a great relationship with my sibblings and there is a pretty big gap between me and all three of them, so I guess it wouldn't be so bad after all! ;)
