Noah is 6+ months now so he has started on solids! We had a trial run back at 4 months, but he just wasn't quite ready, and aside from rice cereal and sweet potatoes every now and then he didn't get solids in his everyday routine. He now has some type of solid food everyday. So far he has had/tried rice cereal, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, peaches, applesauce, and green beans. His favorite so far is sweet potatoes! He likes peaches, and applesauce as a side with his cereal and sometimes mixed in. After a few days of trying it, he liked the applesauce, but he would pull a sour face and shutter a little after it was in his mouth. This of course made me laugh, and in turn he would laugh! It almost seemed he kept eating them just because he thought it was a funny little game we were playing. Back when he first tried squash he seemed to really like it, but now, not so much. He doesn't mind the carrots, he will open up for them.. but the green beans he's still getting used to HaHa.
It's been really fun for us to watch him at this new phase. I love his little face expressions when he tries something new! He has inherited the ability to raise only one eyebrow at a time, and it's so cute when he gets a spoonful of something new and his little right eyebrow raises.
Now that he knows what the baby food is, he usually gets so excited when he sees it getting pulled out. It always makes me smile to watch his excitment! My favorite part of feeding him is when he is really enjoying what he is eating he will make an "MMmm" sound after the spoonful of food is in his mouth. I tried to catch in on video just a little bit ago, but as soon as the camera came out to record he wanted nothing to do with eating anymore HaHa.
As well as starting solids he is now drinking water, and juice, along with "mommy's milk" and formula. He has decided he needs to be a "big boy" and doesn't want water out of a bottle with a nipple. He wants it out of a water bottle or cup like everyone else! So Grandma Kaye bought him a sippy cup of his very own. :) He drinks out of it no problem with a little help, but is still figuring out how to hold it long enough to drink out of it for himself. He likes it as a new toy as well HaHa!
